How to Delete Your Google Maps Timeline (and Keep It Off)
Maps Timeline is a private map of everywhere you've been. Here's how to wipe it and prevent it from coming back.

Google's Maps Timeline is a private record of everywhere your phone has been since you signed into your Google account. It's useful, and it's also a complete log of your life.
Open Maps Timeline
In Google Maps, tap your profile picture > Your Timeline. On newer devices the data is stored on-device; on older accounts it lives in the cloud.
Delete everything
Tap the gear icon > Delete all Timeline. Confirm with your Google password. The deletion is irreversible.
Set auto-delete
From the same settings page, choose Automatically delete Timeline > 3 months. Anything older is purged on a rolling basis.
