Android shows a small toast every time an app reads from the clipboard. If you're seeing that pop up while you're not actively pasting, an app is snooping.
Clipboard access notifications
This is on by default in Android 13+ and cannot be disabled, which is the right call.
Auto-clear on most keyboards
Gboard and Samsung Keyboard both clear their clipboard history after an hour. Don't use third-party keyboards that don't.
Mark sensitive content
Password managers tag copied passwords as sensitive, which prevents them showing up in clipboard history at all.
